New Delhi: UK-based electrification specialist Equipmake has finalized a substantial agreement valued at £2.4 million (approximately $3.28 million) to provide electric drivetrain systems for 23 buses manufactured by Argentine-Brazilian company Agrale.

Expanded Partnership in Sustainable Transport

This latest contract signifies a growing collaboration between Equipmake and Agrale, building on a previous deal in September 2025. Under that initial agreement, Equipmake supplied drivetrain systems for 50 Agrale electric buses, which are now in operation in Buenos Aires, Brazil. The two companies also have a history of joint development, having unveiled a jointly engineered bus model in 2022.

Integrated Electric Drivetrain Solutions

Equipmake’s offering to Agrale encompasses a comprehensive, integrated electric drivetrain system. This package includes an electric motor, inverter, control systems, and battery pack. The company utilizes its proprietary products and technology, supplemented by components sourced from third-party suppliers, to deliver a complete solution.

Strengthening Regional Electric Mobility

Ian Foley, CEO of Equipmake, highlighted the significance of the new order. “The successful deployment of the initial fleet in Buenos Aires has led to this follow-on order which helps cement the relationship with such an important customer, together with our shared commitment to developing a robust sustainable transport network in the region,” he stated. The deal underscores the success of Equipmake’s technology and Agrale’s commitment to expanding electric bus fleets in the region.
