Ferrari has unveiled new details, including the name “Ferrari Luce,” for its forthcoming fully electric sports car, signalling the luxury automaker’s strategic move towards electrification.
Interior and Interface Design Focus
In a press release that detailed interior and interface design elements, Ferrari presented the “Luce” as a symbol of the brand’s “unwavering focus on the future.” The design collaboration is a significant one, involving LoveFrom, a San Francisco-based creative collective founded by Sir Jony Ive, the acclaimed designer behind iconic Apple products like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, alongside fellow designer Marc Newson.
LoveFrom has reportedly been involved in all facets of the Ferrari Luce’s design for the past five years, working in tandem with the Ferrari Styling Centre, which is led by Flavio Manzoni. The brand showcased key interior and interface design features at a launch event in San Francisco, hosted by Ferrari and LoveFrom. These included intricately engineered mechanical buttons, dials, toggles, and switches integrated with sophisticated multifunctional digital displays.
Digital Preview and Future Reveals
Enthusiasts can explore these new design elements through a dedicated website for the Ferrari Luce, which features a comprehensive collection of images illustrating the controls, steering wheel, displays, and overall interior architecture.
Ferrari is also documenting the development and launch of the Ferrari Luce through a series of videos on YouTube, beginning with the car’s journey from concept to reality. A full reveal, including the exterior design, is scheduled to take place in Italy in May.
