French e-bike innovator Moustache Cycles, known for its week-day themed model names, has unveiled the Mardi 27, its latest offering for the urban commuter. Positioned as an accessible and highly capable electric bicycle, the Mardi 27 boasts a user-friendly low step-through frame, ensuring ease of use for riders of all levels. This new model is meticulously crafted to meet the daily commuting demands of city dwellers.
While Moustache already offers popular commuter-focused step-through e-bikes like the Samedi 28 and Lundi 27, the Mardi 27 stands out by offering a lower-maintenance riding experience. This is achieved through its integrated internal gearing system and a reliable belt drive, ideal for the practicalities of urban cycling where hassle-free operation and cost-effectiveness are paramount.
Designed for Comfort and Durability
The Mardi 27 is built upon a robust hydroformed aluminum frame, striking a balance between strength and manageable weight. Its design emphasizes a clean, premium look with fully internal cable routing. Riders can personalize their riding position thanks to an adjustable stem and seatpost, ensuring optimal ergonomics. For enhanced comfort on varied urban terrains, including imperfect roads and light gravel paths, the bike features a suspension fork, a suspension seat post, and wide 2.4-inch tires.
Powerful Performance and Extended Range
At its heart, the Mardi 27 is powered by the highly regarded Bosch Performance Line motor. This mid-drive unit, also found in premium e-MTBs, delivers a substantial 85 Nm of torque, providing a natural and responsive pedal assistance. Standard equipment includes a Bosch PowerTube 500 battery, with an option to upgrade to a larger 625-watt-hour battery for extended range. The higher-tier Mardi 27.6 model comes standard with the 625 Wh battery.

Addressing the needs of urban cyclists, the Mardi 27 comes equipped with a practical rear rack featuring QL3 studs for easy attachment of side accessories. The rack is also MIK compatible, allowing for a variety of accessories such as child seats and luggage solutions. For immediate security, an integrated AXA frame lock is included. The premium Mardi 27.6 model further enhances security with a Bosch ConnectModule, offering GPS tracking and eBike Lock and Alarm features accessible via the Bosch eBike Flow app.

Moustache offers the Mardi 27 in two distinct configurations:
- Mardi 27.4: This entry-level model features a Shimano Nexus 5 drivetrain and a Bosch PowerTube 500 battery. It is priced at 3,699 euros (approximately $4,032 USD).
- Mardi 27.6: The more advanced variant is equipped with an Enviolo TR stepless gearbox and the larger PowerTube 625 battery pack. This model retails for 4,799 euros (approximately $5,231 USD).
