U.S. Energy has expanded its Volt Vault mobile EV charging solutions with the introduction of the Volt Vault Lite, a compact, trailer-based DC fast charging unit designed for greater flexibility.
Introducing the Volt Vault Lite
The new Volt Vault Lite is built on a 22-foot platform and is engineered to be towed by a mid-sized pickup truck, making it a highly portable option. This unit provides two Level 3 charging ports, capable of delivering power up to 60 kW.
Versatile Power Options for Remote Charging
A key feature of the Volt Vault Lite is its ability to operate using propane, utility natural gas, or renewable natural gas (RNG). This versatility makes it particularly suitable for fleets that require rapid charging capabilities in locations lacking established grid infrastructure or for applications where charging is only needed on a temporary basis. U.S. Energy indicates a lead time of four months for the unit.
Addressing Infrastructure Gaps
Jerry Miller, director of business development at U.S. Energy, highlighted the unit’s purpose: “Solving for EV charging shouldn’t feel like a game of ‘would you rather’ and with Volt Vault Lite, it won’t. The Lite model is ideal for fast charging in areas that just can’t get the necessary electrical infrastructure or when charging infrastructure is only needed for short durations.”
Expanding Nationwide Presence
The broader Volt Vault product line, which includes the new Lite model, is currently deployed in 15 states across the U.S., according to company information.
