Xos has announced a significant price reduction for its 2026 model year Class 6 strip chassis, setting the starting price at $99,000. The company is positioning this as the most competitive price point currently available in the commercial electric vehicle segment, aiming to make electrification more accessible for fleets.

Purpose-Built for Fleet Operations

The new chassis features a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 23,000 lbs and is specifically designed for return-to-base fleet operations. Standard configurations offer an estimated range of 120 miles, with an extended-range variant capable of reaching up to 200 miles. Powering the vehicle is an LFP battery system engineered for over 4,000 charge cycles. A key design element is the use of industry-standard axles, wheel ends, and suspension. Xos highlights that this approach ensures nationwide serviceability through existing supply chains, avoiding reliance on proprietary parts.

Enhanced Technology for Efficiency

The 2026 model year introduces enhanced over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities. This feature allows for remote optimization of vehicle performance, updates to charging strategies, and proactive predictive maintenance, all without necessitating vehicle downtime.

Leadership and Proven Delivery

Xos CEO Dakota Semler emphasized the company’s position in the market, stating, “We’re not the newest entrant making promises, we’re a proven leader delivering results today. At a $99,000 starting price, we’re making commercial electrification accessible at scale.”

Extensive Deployment and Warranty

The company reports having over 1,000 vehicles and powertrains currently operational on the road. These are manufactured at Xos’s Tennessee factory and serve prominent fleet customers including UPS, FedEx, Cintas, and Loomis. The electric chassis comes with a minimum three-year warranty, providing assurance for fleet operators.
