Melbourne, Australia – Zeekr, a rapidly expanding electric vehicle manufacturer in Australia, has announced a significant milestone with the delivery of its 1,000th 7X SUV. This achievement comes as the popular model secures a coveted 5-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) under its stringent 2026 guidelines, underscoring the vehicle’s growing appeal and robust order book.
High Demand and Safety Accolades Drive Zeekr’s Growth
The 5-star ANCAP rating reflects strong performance in key safety areas, with the Zeekr 7X scoring 91% for Adult Occupant Protection, 87% for Child Occupant Protection, 78% for Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 78% for Safety Assist technologies. These results were achieved under the latest, more demanding ANCAP testing protocols.
Frank Li, managing director of Zeekr Australia, highlighted the significance of this safety endorsement. “It demonstrates our dedication to providing vehicles that don’t compromise on safety. This recognition from ANCAP validates our engineering excellence and reinforces our position as a serious player in Australia’s premium electric vehicle market,” Li stated.
Zeekr has already delivered over 2,000 vehicles in Australia, with an additional 2,500 orders slated for delivery in the coming months. “Our team is working closely with manufacturing and our dealer network to maintain delivery momentum and ensure every customer receives their Zeekr 7X as quickly as possible,” Li added. “This five-star ANCAP rating validation reinforces the confidence our customers have placed in us.”

Launched in August, the 7X SUV has garnered significant attention in the Australian market, attributed in part to its competitive pricing. The Long Range RWD variant is priced at $63,900, and the top-tier Performance AWD model starts at $72,900.
Performance and Charging Capabilities
The base RWD variant features Zeekr’s 75 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, capable of charging speeds up to 450 kW due to its 800 V architecture. This configuration offers a WLTP range of up to 480 km on a single charge. All 7X variants support 22 kW AC charging, a feature uncommon in vehicles under $60,000.
The Long Range RWD model utilizes a 100 kWh Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt (NMC) battery, extending the range to 615 km WLTP. The Performance AWD variant also uses the 100 kWh battery, delivering a range of up to 543 km and achieving 0-100 km/h in a swift 3.8 seconds, with power output rated at 475 kW and 710 Nm.
