This facility is specifically designed to supply chassis modules for Mercedes-Benz’s electric and hybrid vehicle lines.
Dedicated Production Hub for Premium Automaker
Located in Kecskemet, central Hungary, the new production base is strategically situated close to Mercedes-Benz’s manufacturing facilities. The expansive 50,000-square-meter plant is engineered to operate under a just-in-sequence (JIS) system. This advanced methodology allows for real-time processing of production plans, ensuring that manufacturing and delivery are synchronized with the immediate needs of the customer.
Hyundai Mobis’s collaboration with Mercedes-Benz is not new; the company has previously supplied front and rear complete axle assemblies to the German automaker from its plant in Alabama, USA. The establishment of the Hungarian facility marks a significant expansion of this partnership, focusing on critical EV and hybrid components.

Looking ahead, Hyundai Mobis is further expanding its European presence. The company is preparing for the full-scale launch of operations at its plant in Spain later this year. This facility will be dedicated to supplying battery systems to an undisclosed international automaker, bringing Hyundai Mobis’s total number of European production bases to five.
