The Boring Company’s innovative Vegas Loop system successfully transported approximately 82,000 passengers during the CONEXPO-CON/AGG construction trade show held in Las Vegas. The event, which took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) from March 3rd to March 7th, 2026, saw significant utilization of the underground transportation network.
High Ridership at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026
The substantial ridership figures were announced by The Boring Company via a post on its official X account. CONEXPO-CON/AGG is recognized as one of North America’s largest construction trade shows, drawing over 140,000 professionals from 128 countries this year.
The performance of the LVCC Loop during this high-traffic event underscored its effectiveness as a transportation solution for large-scale gatherings. User testimonials featured in a video shared by The Boring Company on X expressed strong satisfaction with the underground transit system. Some attendees even indicated a desire for similar tunnels to be implemented across other parts of Las Vegas.
The LVCC Loop currently operates as a segment of the broader, expanding Vegas Loop network. Elon Musk, founder of The Boring Company, also highlighted the achievement on his X account, stating, “82k pax moved fast in Vegas tunnels by @boringcompany”.
Expanding Vegas Loop Network
The Vegas Loop continues to grow, with recent expansions enhancing its reach and accessibility. A new station has been established at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas resort on the Strip. Located on level V-1 of the resort’s south valet area, this station provides convenient access for guests.
From the Fontainebleau station, passengers can travel to existing Loop stations serving the Las Vegas Convention Center, as well as to stations at Encore and Westgate, completely free of charge. This expansion integrates major hospitality and convention venues into the network.
Airport Connectivity and Future Growth
In a significant development, The Boring Company began offering rides to and from Harry Reid International Airport in December. These airport routes include a limited above-ground travel segment, a modification approved by the Nevada Transportation Authority to accommodate the Loop operations.
Further expansion is planned with the University Center Loop segment, which is currently under construction. According to The Boring Company President Steve Davis, this segment is anticipated to open in the first quarter of 2026. The extension will enable Loop vehicles to travel beneath Paradise Road, connecting the convention center and the airport, with a planned station situated just north of Tropicana Avenue.
